The month of December has become synonymous with merry-making, acts of generosity and kindness as people across the world share in the joy of yuletide.

It is the month where people extend love and kindness to all persons including the less-privileged in society as they mark of the birth of Christ.

Sharing in the joy and purpose of Christmas, budding Ghanaian journalist Ernestina Serwaa Asante has extended a benevolent gesture to children at the Nyamedua Children’s Home in Accra.

Ernestina Asante through her Tina Asante Foundation, a non-profit organization, donated various items including exercise books, drinks, water, and toiletries to Nyamedua Children’s Home located in Nanakrom in the Adentan Municipality.

According to the Founder of the NGO, Ernestina Serwaa Asante, this act of kindness is aimed at supporting the vulnerable and less privileged in society.

She expressed the Foundation’s commitment to touching as many lives as possible.

Nyamedua Children’s Home currently houses 52 children, including a 6-month-old infant.

“This place serves as a temporary shelter for the vulnerable and less privileged. Some children come from impoverished backgrounds where their parents cannot provide for their basic needs, while others are trafficked from countries like Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Togo,” explained a social worker at Nyamedua Children’s Home.

Nyamedua also has an in-house medical team that attends to the children’s needs, along with social workers and volunteers.

Ernestina Serwaa Asante appealed to the public to support the Foundation so they can continue to bring smiles to the faces of these children.

Founder of Nyamedua Children’s Home, Paul Anaba, thanked the team for their kind gesture and encouraged the public to keep supporting orphanages and children’s homes.
