    A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found dead at a home on Christmas day.

    Police rushed to a house on Norton Canes, Staffs at around 3.25am this morning to reports that a man had suffered a cardiac arrest.

    Officers arrived at the scene and the man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police were seen at the scene today and a spokesperson for the force has said they will remain in the area as their investigation continues.

    A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody, it has confirmed.

    The man’s next of kin have also been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

    Police said a post-mortem is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

    A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: ‘A 33-year-old woman from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

    ‘A scene remains at the address whilst the investigation continues and is expected to remain for a number of days.’

    The man’s next of kin have been informed and are now being supported by specially-trained officers.

    A post-mortem is scheduled to take place on Boxing Day morning, police said.
