Ride-hailing has become expensive in Accra Ride-hailing has become expensive in Accra

Ghanaians on social media, including tourists have lamented the hikes in the prices of ride-hailing in Accra as the Christmas festivities take shape.

Usually, when the demand for these services increase, prices also increase.

But users are currently experiencing a surge in the prices by more than 100% during this festive season due to various reasons, including the presence of tourists in town.

Users on X and Tiktok have complained about the surge and have attributed it to the traffic situation, especially in the capital.

A lot of people have also noted that they might stop patronising ride hailing services and resort to public transport.

This is because the longer you stay in traffic, the higher the prices get, whiles the prices for public transport remains the same, irrespective of the transport situation.
