The late Ghanaian female athlete, Rose Hart The late Ghanaian female athlete, Rose Hart

At the height of her prowess, Rose Hart, made a mark as one of the nation’s most gifted track and field athletes.

The female athlete, born on January 9, 1942, represented Ghana during the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. She competed in hurdling, sprint, and discus throw categories.

Despite her tireless efforts to thrive, her performances were not enough to secure any medals in the events she participated in.

She did not give up on her ambition as she made strides when she represented Ghana at the All-African Games in 1965 and 1973.

Hart won two gold medals in the athletics events at the Games, a feat that placed her among the greats in the history of sports in Ghana.

After her retirement, Rose worked at the National Sports Council as a coach for some time and later ventured into sports administration.

Unfortunately, Rose passed away in 2012; however, her history remains in the good books of the nation’s sporting legacy.
