    A host of Ghanaian football legends were present to support former Hearts of Oak striker, Prince Tagoe, who buried his mother over the weekend.

    Photos shared on social media capture some retired and active Ghanaian footballers present at the event to help their colleague bid a final farewell to his mother.

    Stephen Appiah, Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Antony Baffoe, and Isaac Vorsah were among the footballing stars who attended the funeral ceremony of Prince Tagoe’s mother.

    Reverend Joyce Tagoe passed away on Tuesday, November 2024, at the 37 Military Hospital.

    She was an esteemed Christian, serving as a clergy member at Kairos Chapel, Matuero Assembly in East Legon, Accra.

    Prince Tagoe retired from football in 2019. He is one of the most accomplished strikers in Ghana Premier League history.

    He played for 13 different clubs in his 16-year professional career. Some notable clubs he played for include Hearts of Oak, Hoffenheim, Club Africain, and Al Ittihad.

    In his international career, he made 36 appearances for the Black Stars between 2006 and 2012, scoring 7 goals. He was a member of the Black Stars squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup.
