The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has secured victories in five out of nine outstanding parliamentary seats, following the recollation of results in several constituencies.

    Here are the winners:

    – *Nsawam Adoagyiri*: Frank Annoh-Dompreh of the NPP was declared the winner by the Electoral Commission (EC).

    – *Obuasi East*: Patrick Boakye Yiadom of the NPP narrowly defeated NDC’s Samuel Aboagye by nine votes, securing 18,558 votes.

    – *Tema Central*: The NPP’s candidate, Charles Forson, was declared the winner.

    – *Ahafo Ano North*: Eric Nana Agyemang of the NPP emerged victorious.

    – *Ofoase Ayirebi*: Kojo Oppong Nkrumah of the NPP retained his seat with 18,601 votes .

These declarations come after the Electoral Commission re-examined the results due to concerns over discrepancies in the initial counts. The recollation process is ongoing for the remaining constituencies, with political tensions remaining high.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has secured victories in five out of nine outstanding parliamentary seats, following the recollation of results in several constituencies. This development has significant implications for the balance of power in Ghana’s parliament.

Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the NPP candidate for Nsawam Adoagyiri, was officially declared the winner by the Electoral Commission (EC). This declaration came after the EC addressed various irregularities raised by his competitors, particularly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Annoh-Dompreh expressed gratitude to the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri for their unwavering support. He stated that he looks forward to serving the constituency and working with all stakeholders to continue their development agenda.

In the Obuasi East constituency, Patrick Boakye Yiadom of the NPP narrowly defeated NDC’s Samuel Aboagye by a mere nine votes. Yiadom secured 18,558 votes, while Aboagye received 18,549 votes. Independent candidate Adjei Owusu received 424 votes.

The declarations of Annoh-Dompreh and Yiadom as winners follow a directive from the High Court, which had ordered the EC to re-collate results for several constituencies. These constituencies included Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Ablekuma North, despite the previous announcements of winners.

Both Annoh-Dompreh and Yiadom are now confirmed to represent their respective constituencies in Parliament when the House reconvenes in January 2025. The NPP has also secured victories in Tema Central, Ahafo Ano North, and Ofoase Ayirebi.

The recollation process is ongoing for the remaining constituencies, with political tensions remaining high. Various parties are keenly monitoring the outcomes, as the results will have significant implications for the balance of power in Ghana’s parliament.

The NPP’s victories in these constituencies are a significant boost to the party’s fortunes. The party will be looking to build on these successes as the recollation process continues.

As the country awaits the outcome of the remaining constituencies, the NPP’s performance so far has set the stage for a potentially intense and competitive parliamentary session in 2025.
