The Defense Press Corps (DPC) has sworn in its new executive committee, marking a significant transition in leadership. The ceremony, held at the International Press Center, brought together members of the DPC and journalists from other media organizations.
Outgoing Dean Mr. Ampiah Wood encouraged members to show loyalty to the new leadership, emphasizing the importance of adapting to the evolving media landscape. He noted that while the industry faces numerous challenges, it also offers opportunities for growth and innovation.
The newly sworn-in executive team, led by Mr. Joseph Armstrong Gold-Alorgbey, is committed to driving the DPC’s continued growth and ensuring its meaningful contributions to national discourse. The team includes Shadrack Agyare as Vice Dean, Christiana Nyarko as Financial Secretary, and Gifty Amofa as General Secretary.
Mr. Gold-Alorgbey, the newly appointed Dean, accepted the leadership role with a firm commitment to progress. He emphasized the importance of accurate and objective reporting on the operations and activities of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He also highlighted the need for transparent communication to foster public understanding of the military’s critical role in maintaining national peace and security.
