Content creator Kelvin Sampane Addo, popularly known as Akonoba, has disclosed how he earns income from cross-dressing on social media.

In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show on December 15, 2024, Akonoba explained that his income comes from wearing wigs, women’s clothes, and collaborating with various brands for advertising purposes.

“The characters I play on social media don’t bring in any money, especially the old woman character. I act in those skirts to entertain my viewers, especially elderly people abroad who may be dealing with depression. TikTok doesn’t pay me. But when I wear wigs and clothes for some companies, I get paid for that,” he said

Akonoba also shared how his decision to become a feminine content creator initially faced resistance from his parents.

“When I started, my parents didn’t approve of it. As the firstborn, we even had a little misunderstanding, but we eventually worked through it. I moved out of my father’s house to resolve the issue. Over time, when I became more popular and people started reaching out to him, he began to understand that it was all part of my work,” he explained.

He added, “People called him to talk to him, and he gave in. When they saw there was no negativity surrounding what I was doing, they eventually gave me their full support.”
