Moments after leaving for home after an evening event, a bank cashier and his wife were killed in a horrific road accident in the Ashanti Region, according to GHOne TV today.

After attending a family event in Mamponteng, the couple—identified as Emmanuel Kusi and his wife, Margaret—were allegedly returning to their home in Kumasi.

According to witnesses, a fast tipper truck and the couple’s Toyota Corolla struck head-on on the Ankaase-Mamponteng section.

One bystander remarked, “It was heartbreaking.” We raced to the scene, but our options were limited. Both of them were confined to the vehicle.

According to friends, Emmanuel, who worked for a well-known bank in Kumasi, and Margaret, a creative seamstress, were an inseparable and devoted pair. A close relative claims that a few weeks ago, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.

According to Emmanuel’s cousin Kwadwo Mensah, “they were the ideal couple.” He would never stop talking about how much he valued Margaret. It’s difficult to accept that they both vanished so quickly.

The truck driver’s careless driving has been blamed by the police for the collision.

Inspector Opoku Mensah of the Ghana Police Service stated, “Preliminary investigations indicate that the tipper truck driver was speeding and lost control, veering into the lane of the oncoming car.”

Since then, the truck driver has been placed under arrest for additional interrogation after suffering minor injuries.

Concerns have been expressed by locals along the Ankaase-Mamponteng stretch regarding the road’s small layout and inadequate lighting, which they claim are factors in the area’s high accident rate.

One local complained that the route was a death trap. “How many more deaths have to occur before something is taken action on?”

Friends, coworkers, and family members have been expressing their sorrow on social media as word of the tragedy spread.

“This is a significant loss for all of us,” a bank colleague wrote. “Emmanuel was a brother as well as a coworker. Rest in peace, Margaret and Kusi.

Fortunately, the couple’s two children, ages one and three, were not in the car when the accident occurred. As they work through this trying time, family members have expressed their profound sadness and are requesting prayers and support.
