Former Real Madrid coach, José Mourinho, has expressed his desire for his former club to secure the services of a Spanish player of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams.

Mourinho told Cope that Nico Williams is a player he admires greatly and hopes that he will join Real Madrid.

Mourinho believes that while there is a lot of hype and excitement around Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, he prefers Nico Williams, as he believes the winger is more talented.

Mourinho states that Nico Williams is talented and deserves to play for a club of Madrid’s calibre.

“In the Euros, people were all saying Yamal, Yamal, Yamal… He’s a wonderful boy, but I prefer Nico Williams. I hope he ends up at Real Madrid,” Mourinho told Cope.

Nico Williams is the younger brother of Inaki Williams, who plays for the Black Stars. Both brothers also play for Athletic Bilbao.

This season, Nico Williams has played twenty games and scored two goals with five assists.

The 21-year-old has been linked with Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
