Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female vice president, is praised by President Akufo-Addo for her groundbreaking accomplishments.

Incoming Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has received praise from President Nana Akufo-Addo for her remarkable and groundbreaking accomplishments as a woman. On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the outgoing government met with the incoming NDC government at Jubilee House to start the transition process, and Akufo-Addo was full of admiration for Ghana’s first female vice president-elect. “We have a female vice president for the first time in the history of our country. This accomplishment is one that we should all be proud of,” he remarked.

He also acknowledged their victory and wished the president-elect and vice president-elect success in their new administration, extending his sincere congratulations to them. The establishment of a joint transitional team to supervise a seamless handover of power is one of the topics that will be covered at the meeting.
