Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has lost his parliamentary seat in the Damango Constituency. This unexpected turn of events has sent shockwaves through the political landscape.

The loss of Jinapor’s seat is attributed to the outcome of the recent elections, which saw Adam Mutawakilu Garlus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerge as the winner. However, the electoral process was not without its challenges, as disagreements arose between agents for the NDC and Jinapor’s team over the collation of results.

The tensions surrounding the electoral process culminated in a disturbing incident, where the Electoral Commission (EC) district office in Damango was set on fire. This act of vandalism underscores the intense passions and rivalries that can emerge during electoral contests.

Despite the challenges and controversies that marred the electoral process, it appears that Adam Mutawakilu Garlus of the NDC has emerged victorious. However, official confirmation of the results is still pending, and it remains to be seen how the outcome will impact the broader political landscape.

The loss of Jinapor’s parliamentary seat serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of politics. As the dust settles on this unexpected development, it will be interesting to see how Jinapor and his team respond to this setback, and what implications it may have for his future in politics.
