At the majority of polling places in Ghana, the polls have officially ended, and ballot sorting and counting are currently in progress. As the votes were counted at the Achimota Market Polling Center 1, tensions were high. When it became clear that their candidate, John Dramani Mahama, had won with 153 votes, supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cheered. Vice President Bawumia and the NPP came in second and third, respectively, with 123 votes.

Alan Kyeremanten of the Movement for Change received one vote, while Osofo Kyiri Abosom of the Ghana Union Movement garnered three.
