The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has temporarily lifted a three-year ban imposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Asante Kotoko striker Solomon Safo-Taylor.

The ruling now allows the Kotoko player to be involved in professional football as he awaits the full outcome of the case.

The ban was issued by the GFA Appeals Committee on May 29, 2024, due to allegations of false documentation and double registration while signing his contract with Kotoko.

In a ruling released on November 6, 2024, and signed by the Deputy President of the CAS Appeals Arbitration Division, Dr. Elisabeth Steiner, the player’s license has been reinstated, allowing him to play football while the case is still being heard.

Reacting to the news, the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) welcomed the decision in good faith as it allows the player to continue his footballing career.

“This CAS ruling signals an opportunity for our member to be reinstated so he can continue his professional football career pending a final determination on the matter,” the association said in a statement released on December 4, 2025.
