A recent survey performed by the Centre for Governance, Economic, and Election Research-Ghana predicts that John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win the 2018 Ghanaian elections. The study, which took place in November 2024, had 600 respondents from six swing constituencies.

According to the survey, 57.4% of respondents intend to vote for Mahama, with 27.5% voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate. The remaining 15.1% of respondents stated that they would vote for other candidates. These data indicate that Mahama has a big lead over his opponents.

The survey’s forecasts are based on a detailed analysis of the information gathered from respondents. The researchers selected respondents using a multi-stage cluster sampling approach, ensuring that the sample was representative of the larger community. The poll has a 5% margin of error, indicating that the results are reliable and accurate.

The study results have enormous consequences for the approaching elections. If Mahama’s lead holds, it might mean a significant victory for the NDC. However, it is important to note that elections are fundamentally unpredictable, with numerous elements that can influence the outcome.

The survey’s projections have also stirred discussion among political analysts and watchers. Some have questioned the survey’s methodology, while others claim that the results are consistent with other polls and surveys conducted in recent months.

Overall, survey results indicate that Mahama and the NDC have a good chance of winning the next elections. However, these projections must be approached with caution, as there are numerous factors that could impact the election outcome.
