Thomas Partey delivered a standout performance on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, contributing an assist in Arsenal’s impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the English Premier League.

The Black Stars midfielder started the Round 14 fixture at the Emirates Stadium, playing for 90 minutes despite earlier concerns about his fitness.

Thomas Partey’s commanding display in midfield was pivotal, highlighted by his assist for William Saliba’s decisive second goal.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United began the match with intensity, but the first half ended goalless despite chances on both ends.

Arsenal’s midfield trio, led by Partey, showcased control and composure, limiting United’s opportunities and setting the stage for a strong second half.

Arsenal broke the deadlock shortly after the restart after Declan Rice delivered a precise corner kick that Jurrien Timber headed in at the near post.

In the 67th minute, Manchester United came close to equalising, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made a spectacular save to deny Matthijs de Ligt’s effort.

Moments later, Arsenal capitalised on another dead ball opportunity. Bukayo Saka’s corner found Thomas Partey at the far post, and his header set up William Saliba, who ensured the ball crossed the line to double the Gunners’ advantage.

The victory extended Arsenal’s unbeaten home run to 13 matches across all competitions and brought them closer to league leaders Liverpool, narrowing the gap to seven points.

In another appearance for Arsenal, Thomas Partey proved that he is a key man for Mikel Arteta’s side.
