On the second day of John Mahama’s #Mahama4Change2024 campaign in the Ashanti Region, thousands of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are marching in Kumasi to greet him.

The Kumasi Jubliee Park will mark the conclusion of the “Enti Asanteman Aseda Ni” Walk, which was organized to emphasize the need for change and a departure from the region’s voting trend in the December 7 election. Excitement is in the air as the throng, wearing T-shirts with the NDC logo, chants songs and slogans in favor of John Mahama’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The sound of vuvuzelas has filled the air, adding to the energy of the gathering.

    Activities

For a community engagement, former president Mahama will travel from Jubilee Park to Akumadan in the Offinso North constituency. In the Offinso South constituency, at Offinso Denkyi, the NDC will also host a small campaign durbar. Mr. Mahama will meet with the Barekese community in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency later this afternoon.

Additionally, he will meet with supporters in the Atwima Mponua constituency in Nyinahin. Lastly, Mr. Mahama will be welcomed by the Kwanwoma community in the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency. The former president made a courtesy trip to the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Saturday to begin his campaign in the Ashanti Region. The meeting took place behind closed doors.

The area, which is a key battleground in Ghana’s presidential election and a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the final of 16 regions that Mr. Mahama is seeing throughout the nation as part of his campaign path. With a full schedule, Mr. Mahama is anticipated to stay in the area for six days.
