Supporters of the NDC’s Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Candidate, John Dumelo, and Malik Basintale clashed in a heated encounter with NPP supporters of Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, and Second Lady Samira Bawumia at the University of Ghana campus.

As part of their campaign engagements with voters ahead of the elections, the two parties stormed the University of Ghana campus on November 29, 2024, to interact with students.

However, the situation took a different turn when an altercation broke out between some of the party supporters on the ground.

A video sighted by GhanaWeb showed supporters from both sides exchanging heated words and insults, with tensions escalating to the point where some had to be separated to prevent physical confrontation.

In the video, John Dumelo was seen speaking with the security personnel on campus. Both sides appeared to have provoked each other, prompting the intervention of security officers who were able to calm the tensions between the two parties.

The reason for the clash between the two sides is yet to determined.
