The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has affirmed reports that the Black Stars technical team are owed some salary arrears.

Speaking in an interview with Joy FM, Asante Twum clarified that it is not Addo alone whose salary has not been paid but rather the entire coaching staff.

“I am not sure they have been fully paid by now because there are some salaries that are in arrears and we have to face it. We owe him [Otto Addo] a few months. Not him alone but the entire backroom staff,” he said.

Otto Addo and his men have come under intense scrutiny over their failure to qualify the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Ghana lost three and drew three of their six matches played in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. The team finished bottom of Group F with just three points, while Sudan and Angola qualified from the group.

It marks the first time in 20 years that the Black Stars have not qualified for the AFCON.

Otto Addo presented his report on the reasons for the team’s poor performance when he met the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council on November 27, 2024.

The meeting ended inconclusively as the GFA indicated that they would engage more stakeholders, including the government, to determine the fate of Otto Addo.
