Ghanaian socialite, Nana Tonardo, has criticised broadcast journalist Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah for giving his mother the platform to attack Prophet Opambour.

In an interview with Kwaku Manu on November 29, 2024, Tonardo labeled it an unwise decision on the part of Afrifa-Mensah.

He argued that by encouraging his mother to insult the prophet, she has now become a target of public ridicule.

“For Okatakyie to come on air and call me unwise, then turn around and bring his mother on air to insult Opambour and myself shows a lack of thought. He’s essentially put his mother on a silver platter for everyone to insult.

“If people are insulting her today, who gave them the permission to do so? If she had been thoughtful, she wouldn’t even have spoken about Opambour,” he stated.

    Background

The controversy began when Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah’s mother phoned in during one of his shows to express dismay after Prophet Opambour placed a curse on her son for criticising him.

During the phone interaction, she directed a series of insults at the prophet, escalating the tension further.
