In an inspiring initiative to nurture young talent, the National Symphony Orchestra, a resident performing group of the National Theatre, has completed an eight-month classical music training program.

This comprehensive initiative trained over twenty Ghanaian youth in orchestral instruments, music theory, and performance techniques.

The program targeted youth aged 15 to 30, with a focus on empowering individuals from underserved communities. It aimed to provide participants with access to high-quality music education, mentorship, and performance opportunities, fostering a deep appreciation for classical music while equipping them with skills to succeed in the art form.

Led by experienced educators from the National Symphony Orchestra, the program ensured the young musicians received guidance, support, and mentorship throughout their training. Participants not only honed their technical skills but also built confidence and cultivated a love for classical music.

The initiative will culminate in a final performance by the Youth Orchestra at the Exhibition Hall of the National Theatre on December 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. This showcase promises to captivate audiences with soothing and uplifting classical melodies, offering a remarkable experience that highlights the transformative power of music.

“Admission is free. We are inviting all to witness the musical talents of Ghana’s next generation and celebrate the enriching impact of this initiative on individuals and communities,” says the management of the National Theatre.
