Award-winning musician Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has joined the toy gun trend initiated by some youth in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

In a video shared on the social media platform X, the rapper is seen having fun with another individual, engaging in playful shooting with toy guns inside his home.

This comes just hours after the police announced the arrest of 26 individuals for brandishing and indiscriminately firing toy guns in public.

The suspects are currently assisting with investigations and will be arraigned in court. Meanwhile, the police have confiscated a number of toy guns as part of their inquiry into the matter.

Special police operations are ongoing to apprehend others involved in this growing trend, which has raised concerns in various parts of the country.

In a statement, the police cautioned the youth to desist from the act, noting that it constitutes an offense under the Criminal Offences Act.

“We hereby caution the youth to desist from this act as it constitutes the offense of offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, contrary to Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), among other violations.

We would like to once again assure the public that the police will do everything necessary to ensure that our beloved country remains peaceful.” the statement said.
