    Ghanaian musician Belinda Akua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has shared the reasons behind quitting her job at Wontumi Media.

    In an interview on Neat FM on November 25, 2024, Mzbel revealed that despite her repeated complaints about the working conditions, nothing was done to resolve the issues, leading to her resignation.

    She clarified that while the management at Wontumi Media adhered to the terms of her contract and compensated her well, the working environment simply didn’t suit her, prompting her to step down.

    “Working conditions at Wontumi were not favourable. I complained to management, but they couldn’t resolve it, so I had to resign. They followed every arrangement in the contract, and I was paid very well, but because the working conditions didn’t work for me, I had no choice but to send in my resignation letter,” she said.

    When Ola Micheal asked how she managed to work at a media house associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) despite her support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mzbel explained that her decision was based on her friendship with Wontumi.

    “NPP and NDC are not enemies; we are all Ghanaians. I approached Wontumi because he’s a very good friend. I was there one day, and he called to inform me about the job opportunity. He asked me to come around, and because I didn’t want to ruin our wonderful relationship, I accepted. But when things weren’t favourable, I had to send in my resignation letter,” she added.

    Mzbel made headlines in 2023 when she decided to join Wontumi Media.

    A video of her signing her employment contract went viral on social media, where she could be seen throwing shade at certain individuals in the industry.
