Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hawa Koomson, has been spotted distributing bottles of cooking oil to her constituents ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by EDHUB, was seen handing out bottles of cooking oil to a long queue of women.
The gesture forms part of her campaign efforts, showcasing her generosity to the constituency as she seeks to be re-elected as MP for Awutu Senya East.
Hawa Koomson has served as the MP for the constituency for the past 12 years, first assuming the seat in January 2012.
She faces stiff competition from the National Democratic Congress’ Naa Koryoo Okunor in the upcoming election, whom she defeated in 2020.
In the 2020 election, Hawa Koomson secured 57,114 votes (52.6%), while Naa Koryoo Okunor garnered 51,561 votes (47.5%).
The two rivals are set to face off once again in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.
