Storm Bert wreaked havoc across the UK on Saturday but that did not impede students from taking part in one of the nation’s most famous pub crawls.

From airports being forced to close, to homes without power, the 70mph wind and rain brought about by the winter storm served as little deterrent for the boozy Leeds students.

The students were braving the elements in honour of the notorious Otely run, an 18-venue pub crawl through the town of Headingley in Leeds.

A popular booze route since the 1960’s, the Otely run has taken on another lease of life in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Every weekend, groups from all over the UK descend upon the Yorkshire town to partake in the fancy dress festivities.

And this weekend proved no different, as students battled on against the unrelenting torrents of wind and rain.
