Black Stars defender, Razak Simpson, has revealed that Jordan Ayew played a crucial role in boosting his confidence resulting in his stunning performance against Angola.

Razak, who made his Black Stars debut in the match, said Jordan was the first player to reach out to him in the squad.

In an interview with Newton Lartey TV, the Nations FC defender shared that the Black Stars captain visited him in his room before the game to offer words of encouragement.

He emphasized that the conversation with Jordan Ayew was instrumental in his impressive debut.

“He really had an impact on me. The words that came from him were very inspiring. That’s what made me play the way I did,” Razak said.

“He came to my room to speak to me. He told me, ‘You’re here because you can play. You wouldn’t be here if you couldn’t play.’ He told me not to be afraid and to feel free to ask him for anything,” he added.

Razak Simpson delivered a man-of-the-match performance on his debut against Angola, strengthening the case for local players in the national team.

His performance earned him a second start in Ghana’s 2-1 defeat against Niger, where he played the full 90 minutes in both matches.
