The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is reportedly set to appoint Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member, as chairman of the new Black Stars management committee.
According to Angel FM, the GFA’s Executive Council agreed on the appointment during an emergency meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Pending an official announcement, Dr. Randy Abbey will lead the soon-to-be-announced management committee that will be tasked with spearheading the Black Stars’ resurgence.
The GFA officially dissolved the previous management committee on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
The dissolution is part of the GFA’s efforts to restructure the Black Stars following the team’s dismal performance in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
GFA Vice President Mark Addo chaired the previous committee, overseeing the team’s group-stage exit at the 2023 AFCON and their failure to qualify for the next edition of the tournament.
Ghana missed out on the 2025 AFCON after finishing bottom of their group with just three points, failing to record a single win in six games.
