Ghanaian comedian Daniel Selase, better known as Khemikal, recently shared a humorous story about how he was picked up by the police while performing at a show.

Sharing the tale in an interview with TV3, Khemikal explained that he had entered into a business partnership with a well-known individual, which unfortunately went south.

“It didn’t turn out successfully, and my communication was poor as well. He had me arrested at the Legon police station, where I was placed in a cell and released on bail, but I had to pay the money. At that time, I didn’t have the funds,” he said.

Thinking he could use his pay to foot the bail, Khemikal decided to finish his performance first and then head to the station. Little did he know, the police had other plans.

“During my performance, I saw the CID present, ready to take me into custody,” he stated.

The comedian also added that, although he brings joy to others through laughter, he sheds tears in solitude, having faced challenging periods.

“However, I feel thankful because what feels like tragedy often has a humorous side; all the suffering I’ve endured will eventually turn into financial rewards. As a person of faith, I understand that my struggles have been tough, but I believe God has a purpose.

“There were moments when I contemplated taking my own life, and although I reached out to the suicide hotline, I ultimately lost hope in their support because it wasn’t effective,” he added.
