William Saliba has handed Arsenal a major boost by returning to first-team training ahead of their Champions League tie against Slavia Prague.
The 25-year-old defender has been sidelined for the entire season so far due to a back injury sustained during the summer World Cup.
Summer arrival Ezri Konsa has impressed in Saliba’s absence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, helping Arsenal keep four consecutive Premier League clean sheets.
The Gunners recently produced a strong defensive display to secure a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, their first win there in 14 years.
Although Saliba is unlikely to be rushed back into action immediately, his return strengthens Mikel Arteta’s squad as they look to defend their Premier League title.-Independent
