If you haven’t been following a lot of Spanish or European football this season, you may have forgotten that a certain Anthony Gordon joined Barcelona in the summer.
It would be fair to say a few raised their eyebrows at the £70million price tag, but the England winger has done well and is quite popular at the Camp Nou.
He’s scored three goals and picked up five assists in 13 appearances so far this term, and has been enjoying a fair few starts – partly in thanks to injuries and, to be fair, Raphinha’s form up front.
He’s settled well and played the full 90 minutes against PSG. We expect him to start tonight, too, having come off the bench to score against Alaves in LaLiga at the weekend.
A little subplot for this game, one feels.
