The queen of daytime TV Lorraine Kelly revives memories of the queen of the Rovers Return as she dons a Bet Lynch-style leopard print fur coat.
The Scottish presenter tried on the cosy getup on her show on Friday – immediately prompting comparisons to the iconic soap opera landlady.
Bet, played by Julie Goodyear until 2003, ran Coronation Street’s famous pub and was regularly seen wearing her distinctive coat, usually accompanied by a cigarette and a drink.
The character liked to dress ‘glamorously’ with a fondness for the feline pattern, heavy make-up and a beehive hairstyle. Her ‘unique’ style was famously parodied by Freddie Mercury for Queen’s music video for I Want to Break Free in 1984.

However, Lorraine looked effortlessly chic in the coat with her brown locks down, stiletto heels and a tartan dress – and her trademark smile.
The 66-year-old was joined by fashion expert Mark Heyes as he presented his top picks of high-street winter coats. Lorraine said she ‘loved’ the faux fur leopard print coat from M&S, which was on sale at £72.
