Turkish trainer Kasim Gokyildiz has resigned as head coach of Heart of Lions following a challenging start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League marked by a disappointing run of just eight opening matches.
Gokyildiz signed a one-year contract with the Lions, with the possibility of renewal after Bashir Hayford parted ways with the team when his contract expired.
Before joining the Kpando-based side, he managed Hohoe United, Bechem United and King Faisal.
After eight matches, the team found themselves labouring up the league standings, currently sitting just one point above relegation.
Following a record of one win, two draws and five losses, calls for action from supporters have steadily grown.
With no head coach and the team underperforming, Lions will have to return to winning ways to avoid the risk of finishing bottom of the league.
Matchday nine will see Lions face Bechem United on Sunday, November 1, at the Kpando Sports Stadium, as they strive to keep their hopes alive.
