The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are set to meet on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to make crucial decisions concerning the Black Stars, CitiSports reports.

The report indicates that the Executive Council will scrutinize the performance of the Black Stars‘ technical team over their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

GFA President Kurt Okraku, Vice President Mark Addo, as well as football administrators including Dr. Randy Abbey and Frederick Acheampong, will all be present to share their views.

It is also speculated that the future of the Black Stars‘ head coach Otto Addo will be decided, determining whether he will be dismissed or maintained in his role.

After six matches played in the qualifiers, the Black Stars drew three and lost three, failing to win a single game.

The team finished at the bottom of Group F with three points. Angola topped the group with fourteen points, while Sudan was second with eight points, and Niger finished third with seven points.

Angola and Kwasi Appiah’s Sudan qualified for the 2025 AFCON from the group, marking the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars have failed to make it to the tournament.
