Elon Musk has threatened Hillary Clinton‘s former podcast partner with prison after she claimed to know ‘what’s coming for him’ if Democrats take power in the midterm elections.
Tech journalist Kara Swisher, who launched the High Stakes podcast with Clinton just last week, appeared on The Bulwark podcast and suggested Democrats should investigate Musk if they gain control of both chambers of Congress in November.
Swisher even went so far as to say that Musk would already have been sent to jail if Trump’s Democratic challenger Kamala Harris had won the presidential election in 2024.
‘Under Kamala Harris, he might be in jail right now, right?’ Swisher said. ‘And that’s not because she’s some avenging fury. It’s because there is a lot of questions around different companies of his.’
The Tesla and SpaceX founder seemed to have little tolerance for Swisher’s criticism and warned that she ‘live by the sword, die by the sword.’
‘Sounds like Swisher really wants to go to prison,’ he wrote on his platform X.
In a separate post, he added: ‘Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets.’
Musk’s warning comes just days after his first wife, Justine Musk, appeared on Swisher’s podcast and discussed the tech mogul’s alleged ‘suicidal’ mindset, obsession with being an ‘engineer’ and his ‘intense drive.’

While on The Bulwark, Swisher claimed that the agencies affected by the cuts Musk made when he was running the Department of Government Efficiency would start investigating his many companies.
Swisher continued: ‘If Donald Trump loses the Senate, I would be worried if I were him even though how rich he is.
‘He has a very big sense of fate. And I think it’s coming for him. And real hard.’
While the excerpt of Swisher’s comments reached more than 2.4 million views on X, Musk’s comment underneath got about 574,000 views as of Wednesday night and sparked strong reactions.
One asked: ‘Why would he be in jail for? He hasn’t broken the law.’
Another calmed down the entrepreneur, saying: ‘No worries, Kamala is NEVER going to be President.’
Polls are projecting that next month’s Midterm elections could hand the Democrats both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Meanwhile, top Republicans insist those surveys are skewed and that the GOP will do far better than predicted.
The Daily Mail contacted Swisher for comment.

Destroyed cars in the courtyard of an apartment block following a Russian attack in Kyiv
Musk has poured more than $276 million into Republican groups as the party faces a challenging environment in advance of the midterm elections.
The development comes as it was reported Musk ordered a reduction in Starlink satellite services for Ukraine even as the tech billionaire claimed any limits on the communications system would ultimately have come from the president.
Musk capped the speed at which Ukrainian equipment could connect to the system, making some of Kyiv‘s drones useless, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Kyiv has accused Washington of deliberately slowing speeds at which Starshield, a Starlink satellite network for national security services, can be used effectively, a charge denied last week by US President Donald Trump.
Musk had previously said that ‘any limits on speed or usage’ of Starshield systems were ‘decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS,’ referring to Mr Trump.
Trump has denied ordering a reduction in speeds on Starshield after Musk, whose company SpaceX developed it, said that.
The president, who last week called on Zelensky to resign, also criticized Zelensky for not accepting the terms he said he had offered during their infamous televised argument in the Oval Office in February 2025.
Relations plunged back into a deep freeze earlier this month after Trump suddenly announced his deal with Russia for diesel, as part of his efforts to lower oil prices sent soaring by his Iran war.
The President wrote to Congress that the move was in the national interest, undoing legislation he signed just last month and named in honor of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

Trump has also refused to blame Putin for starting the Ukraine war – putting him at loggerheads with the UK and other allies over the conflict.
Ukraine reacted with dismay after Trump also waived sanctions against Russia’s war machine and appeared to once again pivot to Putin.
The feud spiraled as Zelensky accused Trump of weakness, and then alleged that the United States was deliberately withholding vital intelligence and delaying the delivery of vital interceptor missiles.
The Ukraine war was triggered after Putin ordered the invasion of Russia’s neighbor in 2022. Putin ordered up to 200,000 troops into Ukraine in an attempt to overthrow its pro-Western government.
Since then, Ukraine has suffered hundreds of thousands of deaths while missiles and drones regularly rain down on the capital Kyiv.
Starlink satellites, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, provide high-speed internet to Ukraine’s military. It is vital for communications on the battlefield and effective drone warfare.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that Washington had no prior knowledge of the Starlink slowdown.
‘The President has nothing to do with the decisions that are made by Starlink and Starshield and by Mr Musk,’ Mr Rubio said during his trip to India.
‘That’s a private company; the President doesn’t run that company and can’t direct that company to do anything… I’m telling you, there was no foreknowledge.’
On Tuesday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the Pentagon had not directed any changes to Starshield, saying: ‘We haven’t pulled anything back.’

Musk on Tuesday also suggested that a merger of Tesla and SpaceX could soon be in the works after SpaceX reported a bigger quarterly profit than expected.
The company posted a profit for the three months through September of $4.4 billion, or 35 cents per share, reversing a year-ago loss and easily topping Wall Street’s expectations. Revenue soared to $14.6 billion, up 161 percent.
On a conference call with analysts, Musk said special committees of independent directors at both SpaceX and Tesla have been set up to study the idea at the request of shareholders.
He added that he could not take part in their talks because he has a conflict of interest.
Musk is chief executive of both companies, and also serves as chairman and chief technology officer of SpaceX.
The trillionaire told analysts that for next month’s launch of its Starship rocket, SpaceX will attempt to grab both the booster and ship with mechanical arms upon return to base, a key step toward demonstrating it can reuse the massive spacecraft.
‘The only way that we can extend consciousness beyond Earth on a sustained basis is with a fully reusable orbital launch vehicle,’ Musk said, calling the attempt, if successful, ‘a massive technology milestone.’
SpaceX hopes to get Starship on a regular launch pattern in preparation for NASA’s upcoming lunar missions.
Earlier this week, Musk pledged to give one share of SpaceX to ‘every kid in America’ next year
The news of the potential merger came after Musk pledged to give one share of SpaceX to ‘every kid in America’ next year.
The offer came Monday, one day after artificial intelligence company Anthropic announced in a social media post that it will commit 5 percent of its shares to a new ‘public benefit’ fund.
In a response to that Sunday post, Musk wrote: ‘I recommend giving the shares directly to the public.’
With approximately 73 million children under the age of 18 in the United States, that would put the value of Musk’s pledge at about $10.66 billion.
Musk did not provide further details on how his share pledge will be carried out but did add in his post that ‘This will be the first of many.’
