The three featured fights on JHM Promotions’ big show at the Polideportivo Rey Felipe VI in Boadilla del Monte (on the outskirts of Madrid) all ended in more or less controversial split decisions. The event was televised or streamed.
At super middleweight, Jose Luis Navarro Jr (18-2-1) won the vacant EBU title over Damian Biacho (22-2) in an all-Spanish matchup. Biacho was down in the sixth, and that decided the outcome. The judges scored it 116-111 both ways and 114-113 for Navarro Jr. The result did not go down well with some of the crowd, and there was some fighting outside the ropes as well.
In a rematch, Spaniard Aaron Alhambra (19-2-1) beat Belgian Anes Messaoudi (18-1-2) on scores of 114-113 both ways and 115-112 for Alhambra, winning him the vacant EBU welterweight title. Messaoudi had a point deducted in the fourth for a deliberate headbutt.
Finally, in a fight for the vacant EBU Silver lightweight title, Brian Pelaez (19-8-2) won over Antonio Collado (22-4) in another all-Spanish matchup. It was scored 115-113 both ways and 115-114 for Pelaez.
