Ghanaian music veteran Reggie Rockstone has come to Wendy Shay’s defence following the online reactions to a viral moment involving the singer and Lasmid.
Rockstone, who discussed the incident with his wife, said Wendy Shay handled the situation politely when she removed Lasmid’s hand from her thigh. He maintained that physical contact should never happen without the consent of the person involved.
“No man or woman on God’s green earth has the authority to touch your body without your permission. I can touch my wife’s breast.

“Wendy was so polite; she took his hand off, and she put her elbow on his knee. If Lasmid was uncomfortable with that, it would be his right to kick her hands,” he stated in a video shared on Instagram.

According to Reggie Rockstone, the criticism directed at Wendy Shay is unnecessary, particularly because Lasmid did not appear to be offended by what happened in the video.
He argued that Wendy’s response should instead be viewed as an example of a woman clearly communicating her boundaries in an uncomfortable situation.
Rockstone also called on women to support Wendy Shay rather than criticise her, describing her reaction as something that could serve as an example for women advocating for personal boundaries.
“To the ladies, you should stand up for your sister, and you should know better… What Wendy did should be a poster girl for all women advocates,” he stated.
