Patrick Clancy‘s fertility doctor wife Rachel Danis is expecting the couple’s first child, the 60 Minutes journalist who interviewed them confirmed.
Speaking on CBS Mornings on Monday morning, Ross Douthat told Gayle King: ‘They are having a child.’
Douthat interviewed Clancy and Danis in his first assignment for the storied magazine show on Sunday night, after being poached from his job as star columnist at The New York Times.
He confirmed Danis’s pregnancy after saying he had been ‘too coy’ in the way he had phrased his question to the couple about ‘starting a family.’
Danis has been photographed in public sporting a large bump in recent weeks.

Five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan were all strangled by their mother while Patrick went to get takeout.
Earlier this month jurors were unable to reach a verdict on whether she murdered them and a mistrial was declared.
Prosecutors have yet to say whether they will retry Lindsay on the same charges.

She admits to killing her children but says she was suffering from psychosis triggered by a cocktail of drugs prescribed to her to treat post-partum depression.
Patrick Clancy has stood by his wife and told 60 Minutes how he moved from Massachusetts to New York City to start afresh in the wake of the tragedy.
He said he plans to take legal action against online ghouls who have falsely accused him of involvement in his children’s deaths.
