Ghanaians are expressing disappointment over Thursday's result against Angola Ghanaians are expressing disappointment over Thursday’s result against Angola

For the first time since 2004, the Black Stars of Ghana will miss out on the continent’s biggest football tournament, the Africa Cup of Nations.

On Thursday, November 15, 2024, the Black Stars played a crucial qualifying match against Angola, where both teams shared points at the end of 90 minutes.

The 1-1 result ended Ghana’s dream of participating in the tournament to be held in Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026, with the team relegated to the bottom of Group F.

Ghanaians have since taken to social media platforms to express their disappointment in the senior national team’s failure.

While some supporters are expressing anger and disbelief, others have directed their frustrations towards the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the coaching staff.

Additionally, some are questioning the commitment of players to the national team.

Read some social media reactions below:

    Resignation letter:

Dear Ghana Football Association/Black Stars Management,

Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation as a supporter of the Ghana Black Stars, effective 15th November, 2024.

    Yours sincerely,

    Flamingo

I used to blame Jordan Ayew or André Ayew for any Black Stars loss until I realized they were once better than Kudus Mohammed. pic.twitter.com/MQce1j6kja

The black stars had one of the worst outing in Ivory Coast early this year.

To make it worse they are not going to Morroco in 2025.

We have seen how the return of Otto Addo has destroyed the #BlackStars. Therefore, let’s reject the return of John Mahama. pic.twitter.com/7joQRejFF9
