Plenty of opportunities to impress
The new extended 16-day international break will see England face Spain, Croatia and Czechia twice before returning to domestic football, meaning there are plenty of chances to impress the German for those fortunate enough to be called up today.
Tuchel surprisingly omitted a few high-profile players from his 26-man World Cup squad in the summer, with Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold topping that list.
With four games to sink his teeth into, Tuchel would be wise to use the October break as an opportunity to test out new ideas and give those who didn’t go to the World Cup – and perhaps should have – the chance to shine.
Palmer, as Ian rightly noted, is surely one of those names…
