The Minister of Transport, Mr Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has described the Road Traffic Act, 2025 (Act 1153), as amended, and the Road Traffic Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2519) as a major step towards curbing road crashes and enforcing greater discipline on the country’s roads.
He said Ghana could no longer treat the persistent loss of lives through road crashes as normal, stressing that the devastating impact on families and the national economy demanded urgent and collective action.
“Changes in technology, the growing number of vehicles and motorcycles, and evolving road-user behaviour required a stronger regulatory framework capable of responding to current challenges,” he said. Read More
