Ghana has been recognized as one of Africa’s leading business tourism destinations, placing as Second Runner-Up for the Most Innovative Business Tourism Destination in Africa at the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) Awards.
The awards ceremony was held in Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa.
The award highlights Ghana’s growing appeal as a hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE), adding to its strength in heritage and cultural tourism.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in charge of General Services, Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah, received the award on behalf of Ghana.
He said Ghana is increasingly emerging as a top business tourism destination on the continent, and expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism Art and Culture for creating the enabling environment for the GTA and other agencies to thrive.
Also at the event, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Prof. Kobby Mensah, was a panelist on AI in Tourism Investment, where he showcased GTDC’s use of AI for tourism development and investment.
