Three men were stabbed in the neck and face by a knife-wielding lunatic just hours before New York City‘s Carnival parade was expected to begin.
The violence erupted in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood just before 6am Monday, NYPD said.
A 23-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and a 36-year-old man stabbed in the face near Carroll Street and Utica Avenue, officers said.
Less than 30 minutes later, police were called to the intersection of Utica Avenue and President Street, where a third man had been attacked.
The victim, a 32-year-old, had also been stabbed in the neck, police said.
All three men were transported to nearby Kings County Hospital.
The 32-year-old man is in critical condition, while the other two victims are stable. They are all expected to survive.
A manhunt is underway for the suspect, who police say is still on the loose. He is described as a man wearing gray jeans and a black t-shirt.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Anyone with information about the case or his whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD.
