Keche Joshua has described Joana Gyan Cudjoe as a major force behind the success of the Keche music group, despite the recent end of their seven-year working relationship with her record label, GEM Media.
According to Joshua, the Amenfi Central Member of Parliament played a crucial role in helping the duo build their career and reach a stronger position in Ghana’s music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the musician praised Mrs Cudjoe for the support she gave Keche throughout their time under her label, describing her as an exceptional woman who always put the group’s interests first.
Joshua, who is part of the music duo alongside Keche Andrew, said Mrs Cudjoe’s contribution went far beyond her role as a record label executive. He noted that her investment in the group helped create opportunities that significantly shaped their career.
He pointed to some of Keche’s successful songs released during their partnership with GEM Media, stressing that the group is now ready to take greater responsibility for its own career.
“When they came in, they realised that the potential Keche has is very strong. So, through the woman, we recorded ‘No Dulling’, ‘Good Mood’, and we’ve done everything with them. So, I think it’s time we give the mantle to Keche because we’re strong enough to hold the mantle.
“To be honest, it’s been great working with GEM Media, and I would not lie because Andrew’s wife is one woman I would go on my knees and pray for every day. She’s an amazing woman. She did everything possible to position Keche,” he said.

Joshua also highlighted what he described as Mrs Cudjoe’s professionalism in managing the delicate balance between her marriage to Andrew and her responsibilities as the group’s record label owner.
He said she deliberately kept her personal relationship with Andrew separate from business matters, ensuring that her role as a label executive remained professional whenever she dealt with the duo.
“Anytime Andrew and I are doing anything, she doesn’t come in as a wife. She does it as a record label owner, sits us down, and makes sure she clears any bad energy.
“Andrew and I have been through a lot, but this woman makes sure that when it comes to us, you will never hear anything about us. Even if we fight, she tries to remind us where we came from,” Joshua further stated.
