Just one night after winning a soccer game in Washington, NWSL star Trinity Rodman was in New York on Monday to catch tennis star boyfriend Ben Shelton’s first-round match with Tallon Griekspoor.
The 24-year-old daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, Trinity has been a regular at Shelton matches over the last year and a half, all while balancing her own career with the Washington Spirit.
This time she was spotted in a colorful Polo rugby shirt laughing with a friend in the stands. And at one point, Rodman flashed a ‘peace’ sign to leering photographers.
Meanwhile, the eighth-seeded Shelton got off to a bad start in the 2026 US Open by dropping the first set to his unseeded challenger, 6-1. Shelton would battle back to take the second set by the same tally.
Of course, he’s not the only successful athlete in the relationship.
Rodman’s Spirit is currently in second place in the NWSL and if all goes according to plan, it will be Shelton watching her play for a championship this November.

As for their relationship, it got off to an awkward start with a few cringeworthy direct messages. During a recent interview on Kylie Kelce’s ‘Not Gonna Lie’ podcast, Rodman revealed that it was she who made the first move on the 23-year-old Shelton.
‘Everything I do is just embarrassing. I’m really embarrassed,’ Rodman said. ‘I said “You’re sick, fire emoji,” that’s it … It worked, he responded within 10 minutes, so I win.’
Shelton’s response was equally lame, according to Rodman, but they still decided to meet.
‘He matched the cringe situation, and then I think a week or two later we met in person,’ she added.
It’s been a successful season for Rodman in Washington, where she recently signed a record three-year extension that will pay her $1 million annually. It makes her the best paid player in league history and, according to her agent – Mike Senkowski of Upper 90 Sports Group – the highest paid worldwide.

Rodman did not score in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Bay FC, but she is finally healthy after battling injuries in recent years. Rodman is currently tied for fifth in scoring with 10 goals in 22 games this season and fifth in assists with five for the year.
‘I’m still trying as hard as I can not to throw my body around the way I used to,’ she told ESPN. But I’m really happy with not only the success I’ve had and the goals I’ve scored, just my availability.
‘I’ve played almost every single minute this season. So just to be able to flip that from barely playing last season to then coming in this season and being able to be on the field all the time, I think I’m just really happy. And I’m just keeping my body right so I can stay on the field.
‘But yeah, I am very happy with the new and improved version of myself. I’m the same Trin, just improved little parts of my game.’
