7-month-old baby found dead in a drain at Obuasi Old Estate

A seven-month-old baby has been found dead in a drain at Obuasi Old Estate in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region, leaving residents shocked.

The infant was reportedly discovered in the gutter between midnight and 1:00 a.m., although news of the discovery became known in the community around 6:30 a.m.

The circumstances surrounding the baby’s death and how the body ended up in the drain are not yet known.

The discovery has since been reported to the appropriate authorities, who have begun inquiries into the incident.

The Assembly Member for the Estate Electoral Area, Kofi Mensah, popularly known as Gabasey, intervened after the discovery and facilitated the retrieval of the baby’s body.

He told Adom News’ Isaac Normanyo that arrangements have been made for the infant’s burial as investigations continue.

Residents have been urged to cooperate with the authorities and provide any information that could help establish the circumstances leading to the baby’s death and disposal.

The incident has sparked concern among residents, with calls for authorities to thoroughly investigate the case and establish those responsible.
