YouTube golf stars Good Good have issued a groveling apology and deleted a new Callaway advert that showed one of its hosts shoving a female golfer to the ground.

The bizarre clip, titled ‘The Driver’ – was released this week to promote Callaway’s new Quantum Driver, but sparked a huge backlash on social media for its violent content.

In the clip, Good Good star Garrett Clark can be seen racing towards female colleague Alexis Miestowski and violently shoving her to the ground after noticing that she was trying to take his golf club from his bag.

After she has yelped in pain, Clark stands over her to sternly say: ‘Do not touch my new driver.’ Perhaps unsurprisingly, both brands have now deleted the clips from their social media, and Good Good released a statement on its social media accounts on Saturday.

It read: ‘We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand.

‘We have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission moving forward.’

As soon as the clip was first posted online to Good Good’s millions of followers, the backlash began, with many calling it ‘tone deaf.’

Even the apology received a strong response, with one fan remarking: ‘There were meetings about the content. You and your staff were in it and it was filmed, went through production and then got the sign-off to be released for publication… where did the misalignment happen?’

Another added: ‘Too Late Late @CallawayGolf. I’m out and my daughter agrees.’

When the initial video was posted, and subsequently deleted, on Friday, golf reporter Kevin Van Valkenburg posted: ‘It just takes so many stupid decisions for this to make it into the world, it’s almost breathtaking that no one along the way was like “hand up, not trying to be uncool, but is there a better way to sell this driver?”

Claire Rogers from Skratch Golf, meanwhile, had said: ‘Not to make it into this Big Thing but what on earth are young girls supposed to think when they see something like this?’

Good Good was founded in 2020 and has become one of the biggest YouTube channels in the sport, with more than 2.1 million subscribers.

In recent years, it has extended way beyond making golf videos for social media, releasing clothing ranges and even partnering with the PGA Tour.

Last October, it was announced that Good Good would be the title sponsor for an upcoming 2026 Fall Series event, the Good Good Championship in Austin, Texas.

In response to a request for comment from Golf Digest on Saturday, a spokesperson for the PGA Tour said of the Good Good video: ‘The PGA Tour believes in golf’s ability to bring people together and create a welcoming environment for all.

‘We do not condone violence in any form, and the since-deleted video does not reflect our values or commitment to inclusivity and respect.’

Good Good is made up of 12 creators, eight men and four women, who compete in competitions and challenges online.

In 2025, the company raised $45 million in investment capital, and recent reports claimed that the brand generates more than $50,000 in monthly advertising revenue.
