On December 7, Ghanaian legal expert Tsatsu Tsikata said that he would support John Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He said that compared to what Ghanaians have witnessed recently, Mr. Mahama’s performance during his previous term was far superior. In an interview with Accra-based GHOne TV, he said as much.

According to Mr. Tsikata, the former president’s achievements amply demonstrate his ability to promote the development of the country. “The obvious shortcomings of the current administration are the reason I am voting for John Mahama. “Compared to what we have witnessed recently, Mahama’s performance during his previous term was significantly better,” he said.

Regarding the Akufo-Addo-led government, the lawyer lamented that they have woefully failed Ghanaians, and thus, the NPP does not merit another term.

“The depth to which we have sunk, not only in terms of the economy but also in governance, makes it hard to justify voting for someone who, as Vice President, was deeply involved,” he said.
