It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period as clubs look to make big signings ahead of the new season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

    City work on Bouaddi deal

Manchester City and Lille working to get a deal for £85m-rated Ayyoub Bouaddi over the line.

As Daily Mail Sport reported over the weekend, Lille have been fighting to keep the midfielder for one more season, but City and the player want to seal a move now.

Lille coach Davide Ancelotti explained why Bouaddi is wanted by Manchester City following Lille’s friendly at Everton, saying:  ‘Bouaddi is a very good player. He is available (in terms of his fitness) and he played 45 minutes. But that is only because I have to manage his minutes. Next week we start the season and I consider him as an available player for me.

‘Of course, there are negotiations. There is interest from so many clubs. He is a really, really good player and I hope that he is going to stay with us! What makes him so special? He has a huge personality.

‘He is incredibly intelligent on and off the pitch, he is really mature. He is 18 years old but he looks like he is 32 when he is on the pitch. Technically he is really complete. He is also physical, really strong in duels. He’s going to be one of the best midfielders in Europe for the next 10 years.’

    Chelsea set Neto price tag

Chelsea want close to £100million if they are to sell Pedro Neto this summer, sources inside the Stamford Bridge club have told Daily Mail Sport.

Neto, 26, has had several interested suitors in this window from the Premier League and beyond. Saudi side Al Hilal have been heavily linked this week.

It is understood no formal bids have yet landed with Chelsea for their Portuguese international, but they are aware of others’ appreciation.

    Rodri set for Barca switch

Manchester City midfielder Rodri is expected to arrive in Barcelona this evening.

The Spain captain will then undergo a medical ahead of completing his £64.5million move to the La Liga champions.

Rodri is due to sign a four-year contract on Tuesday and the plan is for him to be unveiled by the club on Wednesday.

Former City full-back Joao Cancelo is also due in Barcelona at lunchtime today after agreeing to return to the club from Al Hilal.

Vicario jets in to Turin after Spurs strike £8.5m deal

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is due in Turin today for his medical at Juventus after the clubs agreed a deal overnight.

Vicario will join on an initial loan with an option to buy at £8.5million.

The 29-year-old Italian has been on Juve’s list for some time and they reverted to him on Sunday after a move for Aston Villa‘s Emiliano Martinez collapsed.

Villa are signing Zion Suzuki from Parma in a £30m deal. The Japan international is due to undergo his medical today also.

Sunderland set to confirm Methalie deal

Toulouse left-back Dayann Methalie arrived in the UK on Sunday ahead of his medical at Sunderland.

The France U21 international, a former target for Newcastle, is set to finalise his £25.7million move pending today’s tests.

    Dedic in for Toon medical

Benfica right-back Amar Dedic arrived on Tyneside last night ahead of undergoing a medical at Newcastle.

Negotiations are at the final stages with a £29.5million deal in place for the 23-year-old.

The Bosnia international is likely to go straight into the team to play Liverpool next weekend.

Newcastle have also held talks with Bayern Munich over a move for Joao Palhinha but have other targets they are considering. Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall is one of the names that remains on their radar in the final days of the window.
