Ghanaian musician and music producer Morris Babyface has opened up about a painful childhood experience.
He has revealed the first time how he was sexually abused by a female house help when he was between nine and 10 years old.
Speaking on The Delay Show, Morris said the woman, who was in her late 20s or early 30s at the time, repeatedly abused him while his mother was away at work.
According to him, the house help would take care of him and his siblings after school before calling him into her room.
“She would do her work by taking care of us, feed us and all that and later, she would go to her room, call me, and have sex with me,” he said.
Morris said the experience affected him psychologically, but he kept it to himself and only told his mother about it when he became an adult.
Many would recall that the musician sometime ago described himself as a chronic womanizer, claiming that he sometimes slept with as many as four women in a single day.
He later said he struggled to break away from the lifestyle before turning to Christianity.
While Morris has not directly stated that his childhood abuse caused his later sexual behaviour, his revelation provides a deeper look into some of the difficult experiences he went through before becoming a Christian.
Morris also used his story to remind the public that boys can be victims of sexual abuse.
“Boys are also sexually abused,” he stressed, urging parents to pay closer attention to their children and the people around them.
