Harrah’s Philadelphia hosted a boxing doubleheader featuring five amateur bouts under Teefy Bey’s “Knockout Night” followed by seven professional contests presented by RDR Promotions as “Rumble Ready 2.” The evening featured a series of competitive amateur bouts before seven professional contests, capped by a fifth-round stoppage from super welterweight Nimal “The Chosen One” Farmer.

Farmer Stops Angulo in Main Event

Coming off the biggest victory of his career in June, Nimal “The Chosen One” Farmer returned to action in the eight-round super welterweight main event against Jose Angulo.

Farmer established his jab early and began changing the complexion of the fight in the second round when he switched to a southpaw stance and found success with combinations. He continued fighting southpaw in the third before alternating between orthodox and southpaw in the fourth, leaving Angulo unable to mount any appreciable offense.

Farmer’s pressure and versatility produced the decisive sequence in the fifth. During the opening minute, Farmer dropped Angulo with a right hand. Angulo barely beat referee Eric Dali’s count, rising at nine.

The action resumed, but Farmer quickly ended the contest. From the southpaw stance, he landed a left hand that sent Angulo crumbling to the canvas, prompting Dali to intervene.

The official time of the stoppage was 1:15 of the fifth round, giving Farmer a TKO victory.

Farmer earns his second consecutive win and improves to 8-1-2 (5 KOs). Angulo falls to 17-15 (10 KOs).

Price Stops Lamptey After Four Rounds

The co-main event featured 21-year-old Devin “Baby Boy” Price against his most experienced and winningest opponent to date, Benjamin “Daddy Lumba” Lamptey.

Price established himself as the aggressor from the opening bell, targeting Lamptey’s body with consistent pressure. He continued to control the action and closed the fourth round with an especially sustained attack downstairs.

Lamptey survived the round but elected not to continue, retiring on his stool before the start of the fifth.

The official result was Price by TKO at 3:00 of the fourth round.

The stoppage gives Price his fifth consecutive victory and moves his record to 8-1 (6 KOs). Lamptey falls to 17-17-5 (13 KOs).

Harris Wins Split Decision Over Corona

Undefeated Trenton, New Jersey, super lightweights Mike “Da Titan” Harris and Eduardo “Mexican Bully” Corona met in a six-round bout that matched Harris’ boxing ability against Corona’s relentless pressure.

Harris controlled the first three rounds with superior punch volume and accuracy while Corona continually marched forward.

Harris’ straight right hand was particularly effective, including in the fifth round. Corona continued applying pressure, however, and Harris slowed in the sixth while Corona produced his strongest round of the fight.

The judges split on the outcome, with two scoring the bout 58-56 Harris and one scoring it 58-56 Corona, giving Harris the victory by split decision.

Harris remains unbeaten at 6-0 (1 KO). Corona drops to 2-1 (1 KO).

Womack Loses Pro Debut to Presidential

Philadelphia’s Qwadir Womack made his professional debut against Jersey City’s Rex Presidential in a four-round light heavyweight bout.

The fighters approached one another cautiously in the opening round, respecting each other’s power. Womack appeared to land the more telling punches during the first two rounds before both fighters connected with effective power shots in the third.

Presidential, a southpaw, landed a left hand with Womack against the ropes in the third, while Womack finished strongly in the fourth.

The judges returned scores of 38-38 even, and 39-37, 40-36 for Presidential, awarding Presidential the majority decision.

Presidential improves to 2-1-1 (1 KO), while Womack begins his professional career 0-1.

Markle Wins Pro Debut on 30th Birthday

New Jersey’s “Remarkable” Billy Markle celebrated his 30th birthday by making his professional debut against fellow debutant Cole Cameron in a four-round welterweight contest.

Markle consistently got his punches off first and was the more active and accurate fighter through the opening two rounds. Cameron found success in the third with his straight right hand and carried that momentum into the fourth by increasing his activity.

The bout nevertheless went to the scorecards, with all three judges scoring it 40-36 Markle for a unanimous decision.

Markle begins his professional career 1-0, while Cameron falls to 0-1.

    Gonzalez-Fuentes Stops Blair in Debut

Two fighters making their professional debuts met when New Brunswick, New Jersey-based Mexican Yair “El Rebelde” Gonzalez-Fuentes faced Mays Landing, New Jersey’s Dalvin “HippieDisciple” Blair.

Gonzalez-Fuentes consistently came forward, landing lead power shots to both sides of Blair’s head. The pressure continued into the second round, where a left hook to the body appeared to hurt Blair.

After Blair retreated to the red corner, Gonzalez-Fuentes continued his attack. Another left hook to the body sent Blair to the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the contest at 2:59 of the second round.

Gonzalez-Fuentes wins his professional debut by TKO and starts his career 1-0 (1 KO). Blair is 0-1.

    Rankins Scores First Professional Stoppage

The professional portion of the evening opened with lanky light heavyweight “Ruthless” Lorenzo Rankins facing Adrian “Debonair” McGuire.

Rankins used his height and reach to establish distance before weathering an early rush from McGuire. A left hook to the body then changed the fight, sending McGuire to the canvas.

McGuire was unable to beat referee Eric Dali’s count.

The official result was Rankins by knockout at 2:14 of the first round.

Rankins improves to 2-0 (1 KO) and records the first stoppage of his professional career. McGuire falls to 0-2.

    Teefy Bey’s “Knockout Night”

Before the professional action began, Teefy Bey’s “Knockout Night” featured five amateur bouts, providing a fast-paced opening act to the evening’s doubleheader.

Baker Stops Sanders in Heavyweight Main Event

The amateur portion concluded with a heavyweight matchup between Rahfiq Baker and Abdulla Sanders.

Baker, who had previously won the main event of the Knockout Night series, entered the bout giving up more than 100 pounds to Sanders.

Despite the substantial size disadvantage, Baker was the busier and more accurate fighter in the opening round. Sanders appeared to show signs of fatigue early in the second, and Baker capitalized by continuing to land accurate punches.

With Sanders in a neutral corner, Baker unleashed a sequence of unanswered shots that prompted referee Tamika Beverly to stop the contest.

Baker was awarded the TKO victory at 1:19 of the second round.

    Morris Scores TKO Over Segla

Muhammad Morris, who had won by decision at the inaugural Knockout Night, returned to the series against Ken Segla.

Southpaw Segla used in-and-out movement early, attempting to disrupt Morris’ rhythm. Morris eventually found the answer with his straight right hand.

After staggering Segla with the punch, Morris scored a knockdown with another straight right. Segla beat the count but continued to absorb the same weapon in the second round.

Morris scored a standing eight count in the second, and at the beginning of the third, referee Bernard Bruni determined Segla was unable to continue.

Morris was awarded a TKO victory at 0:01 of the third round.

    Hall Outworks Cuyler

Jackie Hall defeated Tawheed Cuyler in a competitive amateur contest.

Although Cuyler possessed height and reach advantages, Hall effectively pressured his opponent, getting inside and outworking him in the opening round.

Cuyler had his moments in the second, but Hall regained control in the third by again outworking Cuyler.

The bout went the three-round distance, with Hall receiving the official decision.

    Holland Stops McAulay

Ty Holland scored the amateur portion’s other stoppage, defeating Kyle McAulay by knockout.

After a competitive opening round, Holland landed several effective punches in the second. An uppercut stunned McAulay, and Holland followed with a combination that sent McAulay to the canvas.

McAulay was unable to continue, giving Holland the knockout victory at 2:48 of the second round.

    Harris Wins Opening Bout

The evening began with a 140-pound amateur bout between Jack Missett and Bishop “Sniper” Harris.

Harris controlled the first round, while Missett became the more active and aggressive fighter in the second. The third remained competitive, with both fighters having their moments.

The bout went the full three-round distance without a knockdown, with Harris receiving the official decision.

A Doubleheader of Amateur and Professional Boxing

The combination of Teefy Bey’s “Knockout Night” and RDR Promotions’ “Rumble Ready 2” provided a full evening of boxing at Harrah’s Philadelphia, beginning with five amateur contests and continuing into seven professional bouts.

The professional portion featured three fighters making their debuts, a first professional stoppage for Rankins, and victories for Harris and Price before Farmer closed the night with a pair of knockdowns and a fifth-round TKO over Angulo.

Both “Knockout Night” and “Rumble Ready 2” are available for livestream and on-demand replay through BXNGtv.com.
